This picturesque and romantic castle, in a quiet parkland setting, conveniently located near Angoulême, is tastefully decorated with a meticulous eye for detail. Warmth and tradition are found throughout as you contemplate family furniture, mixture of contemporary art, antiques, colors and textures, in a charming blend of centuries. Five acres of landscaped grounds looking out over the swans on the River Touvre, offer you a magical getaway. A unique place for you to hold a private party, a wedding, or a business meeting. Three comfortable rooms and two spacious suites are available for an unforgettable stay.

 

The Salons
The tastefully decorated grand salon, music room, and dining room are filled with art and furnished with an eclectic mix of family antiques.  The overall effect is warm and welcoming. On a winter's day the living rooms are the perfect spot to sink into a comfortable sofa, to read or listen to music, or simply enjoy a fire in the majestic medieval fireplace.

Breakfasts
Mornings you will be generously and warmly welcomed to enjoy a delicious and inventful breakfast in the delightful and bucolic setting of our dining room and its murals. During the summer season, you have the option of enjoying your breakfast in an outdoor seating area.

Dining facilities
We can provide you with the addresses of a variety of nearby restaurants. 

A country meal may also be prepared for 38€ per person (reservation 24hours in advance, under certain conditions),

An area of simple cooking with a fridge, microwave...alow you to do your own pique nique.

We also offer, only upon previous reservation (3 days in advance), a “table d’hôtes” for a minimum of four people.  This generous and refined dinner is served in the dining room for 60€ per person

Moreover, various areas of the Château de Maumont are available for intimate special events, be it outside facing the grand façade of the chateau, a picnic in the bamboo grove, or a candlelit dinner in the grand salon in front of the medieval fireplace…depending on your whim and the circumstances.

 

Guests arrivals and departures

We can guarantee the availability of your room after 4 pm the date of your arrival.  On the date of your departure we would appreciate you vacating the rooms before 11 am.

Special rates
For the third night in residence  reserved by phone or on the email contact, a special cut of 10% will be applied to the total (table d’hôtes and Festival period excluded).

The Comics Festival
At the end of January, nightly rates change for the Festival de la BD.  Marguerite d’Angoulême and Pierre Loti are 200 €/night, the St Gelais and the suites are 230 €/night for one or two people.

Children
For children under 12 years in the suites we charge an extra 25 Euros to the price of the suite for two people.
Children under 3 years are our guests and are free.
A baby bed can be made available upon request at no extra charge.

Payment and cancellations
We accept credit card, checks, vacation vouchers, and cash.
 

In case of cancellations :

• less than 15 days before : 30%
• less than 3 days before : 50%
• no Show : 100%

During the comics festival and Circuit des Remparts the conditions are as followed

• Less than 1 months before arrival : 50%
• Less than 6 days before arrival : 100%

 

Animals are not permitted.
Parking is available on the premises.
The rooms are non-smoking.
